ULTRA-LIGHT: MATABELELAND NORTH, ZIMBABWE
From 2010-2014, IAPF’s 2-seater ultra-light aircraft was based out of Victoria Falls and used weekly over National Parks and other conservation areas. IAPF and other conservation organizations in the region used the asset for conducting wildlife counts, anti-poaching operations, locating injured wildlife, darting, filming and regular airborne patrols, giving a 3rd dimension to the great efforts taking place on the ground. Will Simons, flying for IAPF dedicated over 200 hours to the cause over this timeframe. The aircraft was remobilised to the Zambezi Valley for anti-poaching operations in April 2014. Back to projects
